Day #32 - Porkin' It

Work is insane right now. We are in the middle of sweeps. Sweeps = hell for people that work in TV. The time in which every television show pulls out their cocks to compare sizes. Not quite that literal, but pretty much.

On top of that, my co-worker decided to put in his 3 week (3? yes 3) notice almost 3 weeks ago.

1 week ago he asked for his job back because he didn't realize it would be so hard trying to find another job during this shitty economic times. (smart one, buddy). This is the perfect example of the stupidity I have had to share an office with for over a year now.

Skip over the long, dramatic story of this asshole trying to get his job back after years of slacking off and only 2 weeks after putting in his notice, he now only has 2 days left. And I am ecstatic.

In 2 days I will have complete control over the TV remote (yes, a tv is in our office). I will be able to set the temperature of the office to 90 degrees if I want. And I'm going to be eating buckets of boiled eggs. Buckets.

Day # .....aw fuck it, I don't care today

Yes I disappeared for a few days. And not just from you, from just about everything.

I didn't go to work. I didn't text back. I didn't email. Didn't even Facebook. I know, crazy.

So what did I do? Slept. Laid on the couch. Then laid on the love seat. Sometimes even the floor.

Watched movies. Watched TV. Some VOD. And even some youtube videos.

Not sure if I'm sick, getting depressed, or feeling sorry for myself. Maybe a little cocktail of them all.

Trying to work on myself, my career and body all at once can be a bit overwhelming. And when it seems as though everyone is moving forward but you, it can be a little discouraging.

So bear with me, as I continue to try and figure out my life through this blog.

Day #30 - Day of Rest and Ice Cream Sandwiches

Gonna make this real quick because today is my day off and the last thing I want to do is stare at a computer. No offense, love you guys. Hate the computer.

Goals of the day:
1. Make pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, and baked beans. Gonna be a pretty solid food day.
2. Movie hop. Why pay for two when you can get away with only paying for 1? Yes, I know I'm not 13 anymore. But I'm broke and get off on cheap thrills.
3. Eat the bf's ice cream sandwich cake I made him for his birthday. Yup, you heard right....a tower of ice cream sandwiches.

Gotta go, I obviously have an intense day in front of me.

But when I was able to check it today, I stumbled upon this:

Oh, hello Robert.

This pictured made my day go from "ok" to "okaaaaaay".

Sore from a tough yet accomplished 4 mile run yesterday, finished a Jillian Michaels video and 30 minutes on the eliptical today, and celebrating a very special someone's birthday tomorrow.

Day #27 - I'm Not Going To Freak Out

I did something bad yesterday. Something that I knew would change my life yesterday. Something that I've been avoiding for 5 months.

I stepped on the scale.

I knew my clothes were tight...like extremely tight. And I knew that I had to buy a pair of jeans that were one size bigger. But seeing the number always feels worse. I feel like I'm mourning the loss of my former confident and in shape self, and realizing that I have undone a lot of work. It's embarrassing having to admit my weaknesses on my blog that promotes healthy living, but I feel like it's important for people to be able to talk about their fears, failures, and struggles. If you have weight issues your whole life like I have, you know that this is a lifetime struggle. It will never be cured. It's either under control or out of control.

I know it could be worse. I know I could have gained more and not stopped myself as soon as I did. But, in reality I undid 10 months of work in 5 months and I am not happy about this. Am I back at the very beginning? No. I'm still quite a few pounds away from that. Let's just say I'm somewhere in the middle of my "before" and my "after" pictures.

What happened? I'm not totally sure. June and July was filled with special events and celebrations and many easy excuses to celebrate with food and drink. Then August and September was total chaos trying to pack our apartment while my boyfriend was in Mexico for a month and then having to move the day after he got back. Since then, stress in regards to money, the uncertainty of my career, and the hours I put into creating a second career has caused me to cope with more food and drink. These are not excuses. But they are truths.

So what's next? Setting new goals. First goal = NOT FREAKING OUT. Obviously I am going to really step up my exercise plan, 3 hours a week just ain't cutting it. And my weekend "partying" must cease. But, the details still need to be worked out (which I will post, just to help keep me on track).

So instead of beating myself up, crying for days (only happened for minutes, I swear), and hating myself for gaining more weight than I should have. I'm getting back on the horse and just doing it again. It's really that simple.
